Please review your \n\ntraining history on your online portal\, for how many TSKUK Course stamps you require to be eligible to grade for certain grades. \n\n\n\nBOOK TICKETS HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nScott has been practicing martial arts since the age of 5\, however\, he started his karate career proper in 1986 under the instruction of Howard Milson\, a senior member of Kodokai and one of the very few 5th dans in the UK at the time. Scott trained hard with Howard and Kato Sensei and gained shodan in 1992. After travelling to Japan with Kato Sensei in 1993\, Scott started university in Staffordshire and trained on a daily basis with him. \nDuring this time he assisted Kato Sensei teaching around the UK and Europe. Scott also competed regularly; winning\, both in kata and kumite\, the National Championships five times\, European Championships three times\, and the 1996 JKA World Championships in Moscow. Building on this success\, Scott travelled once more to Japan in 1997 and started to train full time at the JKA (Asai fraction) Hombu dojo. \nUnder constant pressure from the instruction of Asai\, Abe\, Yahara\, Kagawa\, Isaka\, Yamaguchi etc\, Scott went from strength to strength and in 1998 was asked to enter the instructor’s course. Unfortunately\, an injured knee prevented this\, so after considerable rehabilitation\, Scott\, along with Yasuhisa Inada\, entered the course in 2000 and became the first instructor’s course class of the newly formed Japan Karate Shotorenmei. Two intensive years later\, Scott graduated from the course and became the fifth non-Japanese person ever to do so (JKA/JKS). \nFeeling it was time to move on and encouraged by the hombu dojo to develop JKS karate\, Scott moved to Ireland. From 2002 until 2013 Scott was the Technical Director of the JKS GB & Ireland and the Chief Instructor of JKS Ireland’s Hombu Dojo. In that time the group grew from 4 clubs to 120 clubs\, making it the biggest single style group in the British Isles. His own club also grew from the initial 8 members that showed up on the first night\, to over 500 members and four full time instructors. \nScott is the bestselling author of Karate Stupid and Karate Clever.  He is a founder member of Hombu Dojo Karate International and Chief Technical Director of the group.

At twelve\, he started karate under Matsuda Sensei in Gifu and later joined the renowned Takushoku University Karate Club\, training under Tsuyama Sensei and competing in JKA and JKF tournaments. After graduating\, he moved to the UK to train under Kawasoe Sensei\, eventually becoming his assistant. In 1994\, he founded his dojo “Takushinjuku” in West London\, later establishing the Shotokan Karate-Do Alliance International (SKAI) in 2005. Now based in Germany\, Sensei Akita continues teaching globally\, passing on his knowledge to all dedicated practitioners.

Iain holds the rank of 7th Dan with the British Combat Association (one of the world’s leading groups for close-quarter combat\, self-protection and practical martial arts)\, the British Combat Karate Association\, and the English Karate Federation. \nOne of the leading exponents of applied Karate\, Iain has written several critically acclaimed books on the practical application of traditional martial arts. He is well known for his work on the pragmatic use of the techniques and concepts recorded in the traditional Kata. Iain’s seminars\, books\, DVDs and articles have proved very popular with those groups and individuals who wish to practise their arts as the pragmatic systems they were initially intended to be.

DESCRIPTION:ESKA proudly announces that we will be hosting Sensei Scott Langley 7th Dan. \nCourse Details\nThe Dojo Norwich\, 3 Burton Road\, Norwich\, NR6 6AX \nSaturday 19th August 2023 \n\nWhite (10th Kyu) – Purple & White (4th Kyu) – 1.00pm – 2.30pm \nBrown Belt (3rd Kyu) & Above Only– 2.30pm – 4.00pm \nDan Grades Only – 4.00pm – 5.00pm \n\nScott Sensei is one of the youngest people ever to win the World Championships and has over 30 years experience practicing and teaching karate. \nScott has been practicing martial arts since the age of 5\, however\, he started his karate career properly in 1986 under the instruction of Howard Milson\, a senior member of Kodokai and one of the very few 5th Dans in the UK at the time. Scott trained hard with Howard and Kato Sensei and gained Shodan in 1992. After travelling to Japan with Kato Sensei in 1993\, Scott started university in Staffordshire and trained on a daily basis with him. \nDuring this time he assisted Kato Sensei teaching around the UK and Europe. Scott also competed regularly; winning\, both in kata and kumite\, the National Championships five times\, European Championships three times\, and the 1996 JKA World Championships in Moscow. Building on this success\, Scott travelled once more to Japan in 1997 and started to train full time at the JKA (Asai faction) Hombu dojo. \nUnder constant pressure from the instruction of Asai\, Abe\, Yahara\, Kagawa\, Isaka\, Yamaguchi etc\, Scott went from strength to strength and in 1998 was asked to enter the instructor’s course. Unfortunately\, an injured knee prevented this\, so after considerable rehabilitation\, Scott\, along with Yasuhisa Inada\, entered the course in 2000 and became the first instructor’s course class of the newly formed Japan Karate Shotorenmei. Two intensive years later\, Scott graduated from the course and became the fifth non-Japanese person ever to do so (JKA/JKS). \nFeeling it was time to move on and encouraged by the Hombu dojo to develop JKS karate\, Scott moved to Ireland. From 2002 until 2013 Scott was the Technical Director of the JKS GB & Ireland and the Chief Instructor of JKS Ireland’s Hombu Dojo. In that time the group grew from 4 clubs to 120 clubs\, making it the biggest single style group in the British Isles. His own club also grew from the initial 8 members that showed up first night\, to over 500 members and four full time instructors. \nScott is the best selling author of Karate Stupid and Karate Clever which tell much of Scott’s karate journey so far. \nScott trains daily at the dojo with the other Sensei and takes the Adult classes on Monday and Thursday nights.  He spends most of his weekends travelling around Great Britain and Europe teaching at seminars. However he likes to surprise the kids every now and then so he might drop in on any class any time.

DESCRIPTION:The course is FREE to all Junior and Adult ESKA members. \n9:30am – 10:15am Sensei Asuka Sasa \n10:15am – 11:00am Sensei Ayano Takaki \n11:15am – 12:15pm Sensei Aidan Trimble \n  \nSensei Asuka Sasa – JTKA  \nAll Japan Business Group  Karate Championships – KUMITE 3rd place  \nInternational Shotokan World Karate Championships – KUMITE champion  \n  \nSensei Ayano Takaki – JTKA  \nGichin Funakoshi Cup World  Karate Championships  – KATA champion  \nAsia Oceania Karate Championships – KATA champion  \nPrime Minister’s Cup National Karate Championships  – KATA champion- 5 consecutive victories  \n  \nSensei Aidan Trimble 8th Dan\n   \nSensei Trimble began training in the martial arts in 1972\, achieved Black belt 1st Dan in 1977 and is currently an 8th Dan. A member of the British Karate team from 1978 to 1994 he was four times British champion\, four times European Team Champion\, and in 1983 he won the Individual World Championships title in Tokyo\, Japan. He became a professional instructor in 1984 and in that time has coached throughout Great Britain\, Ireland\, Europe\, Scandinavia\, United States\, South Africa and Japan. Following his highly successful competition career Aidan worked in sports development. Worked as a professional bodyguard and also worked as an Actor securing many roles on TV but it is his work as an instructor that he has really excelled. In 1986 he formed The Federation of Shotokan Karate. \nAs Chairman and Chief Instructor he has developed clubs both nationally and internationally. A member of the Writer’s guild of Great Britain Aidan has written eight books and produced a series of DVD’s on the martial arts with worldwide sales\, the books having been translated into several languages. He has also written articles for several martial arts magazines. He has received awards for his contribution to the development of Karate and sport from American\, Norwegian\, Italian\, South African\, Iranian\, and Japanese sporting Governing Bodies. Aidan now runs one of the most prestigious Karate centres in the Country and has produced many International competitors both junior and senior.
