NR6 6AX \nSaturday 24th October 2026 \n1.00pm – 5.15pm \n\nDue to the content and length of this course\, it is only open for Brown Belt or Above\, Aged 12 Years+. \n\nSensei Iain Abernethy has been involved in martial arts since childhood. Iain holds the rank of 8th Dan awarded to him by Sensei Peter Consterdine. \nOne of the leading exponents of applied Karate\, Iain has written several critically acclaimed books on the practical application of traditional martial arts. He is well known for his work on the pragmatic use of the techniques and concepts recorded in the traditional Kata. Iain’s seminars\, books\, DVDs and articles have proved very popular with those groups and individuals who wish to practice their arts as the pragmatic systems they were initially intended to be.

DESCRIPTION:Stances Without Strain: Strength\, Endurance and Efficiency in Movement \nStances Without Strain is a performance-focused course designed to develop the strength\, endurance and efficiency required to move in and out of Karate stances powerfully\, while reducing unnecessary strain on the knees\, hips and lower back. \nThis course is open to all adults and is particularly suitable for intermediate grade (and above) students with a good understanding of the basic stances\, who are looking for structured performance-focused training alongside their Karate. \nCourse Dates:Tuesday 24th November\, 7:30–8:30pmTuesday 1st December\, 7:30–8:30pmTuesday 8th December\, 7:30–8:30pmTuesday 15th December\, 7:30–8:30pm \nThis is a four-week block and booking secures your place on all sessions. \nDue to the focused\, small-group nature of the course\, spaces are limited to 8 attendees and will be allocated on a first-come\, first-served basis.
